About Project

ABOUT “SHE KNOWS” PROJECT

The “She Knows” project aims to enhance the economic inclusion of women in Serbia by increasing their potential for employment, encouraging opportunities for self-employment and entrepreneurship, and establishing policies and practices aimed at reducing barriers to women’s participation in the economy and gender biases in the workplace.

The primary focus of activities and initiatives is on women from rural areas who are not employed, not engaged in education, nor enrolled in training (NEET – not in education, not in employment, not in training).

Increasing women’s employability and supporting business development

Through targeted training and mentoring, we provide women with the necessary knowledge and skills demanded by the job market. We support business development by offering grants, enhancing women’s financial literacy to help them better understand and utilize available financial services, thereby contributing to their economic independence and stability.

Private sector readiness

We work to promote gender equality in business and create inclusive work environments. Our efforts aim to eliminate gender stereotypes and discrimination, thereby fostering workplaces that respect and value all employees. We believe that inclusivity and equality are not only moral obligations but also key factors for sustainable economic growth and business success.

Access to markets and funds for women

We support women entrepreneurs in building networks and establishing business connections, thereby increasing their competitiveness and visibility in the market. We inform them about available funding opportunities, assist in preparing necessary documentation, and connect them with investors and donors. We promote success stories of women entrepreneurs as inspiration and motivation for other women considering starting their own businesses.

The “Ona Zna” project is a four-year initiative (2023-2027) funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Impact Hub Belgrade in cooperation with AmCham Serbia, the Center for Development of Jablanica and PĨinja Districts (CRJPO), and Erste Bank Serbia.
